Position Overview:

Brilliant Earth’s Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability (RS&S) Team, led by the VP of Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability, oversees the Company’s ESG strategy across our corporate footprint through to our supply chain. This includes vendor compliance, adherence to our Mission and responsible sourcing standards, social and environmental claims and commitments we make to our customers, and our public ESG Goals.

The RS&S Team is part of the Legal & Compliance Team under the Company’s General Counsel.

The RS&S Associate focus will be BE’s fundamental responsible sourcing and compliance programs related to product suppliers. The Associate will also have a role in greenhouse gas accounting - GHG data management, ensuring alignment with GHG Protocol, and tracking progress towards our SBTi Targets. Additionally, the Associate will provide other operational and administrative support for the Legal & Compliance Team. We’re seeking a solution-oriented, self-starter with anappetite to learn new skills. As a mission-driven company, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about helping us achieve our ESG goals through a business lens.

Ideal candidates will be based in commuting distance to our Denver, CO. The targeted salary budget for this position is $70,0000 – 80,000. This budget range may be adjusted at any time at the discretion of the company.

What you’ll do:

Responsible Sourcing and Sustainability

  • Uphold our Mission through vendor compliance of our product suppliers: Work with internal business partners (Product Vendor Managers of Loose Sourcing and Jewelry Production) and vendors to communicate compliance requirements, run regular compliance reviews of the various raw materials according to our standards and policies, and drive improvements in workflows.
  • Drive greater transparency throughout the supply chain, monitor for risks, and provide guidance and create processes around how to mitigate the risk.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of supply chain information and vendor compliance documents, including document versions, deadlines for document completion and renewal, and follow-up actions required.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the field and industry best practices within a fast-paced environment, learning new concepts as applicable.

Greenhouse Gas Accounting

  • Collect quantitative data, including primary and secondary data, for GHG inventory accounting, including emissions factor tracking of scopes 1, 2, and 3, and ensure accuracy and audibility of the data.
  • Generate insight from supply chain GHG data, monitor progress towards SBTi Targets, and assist in developing annual ESG reporting contents to GRI and SASB disclosures.
  • Stay up to date on current and emerging policy and regulatory drivers of GHG emission disclosures.

Legal & Compliance

  • Assist with the implementation and administration of legal workflows like contracts, NDAs, and document retention processes.
  • Build and manage auditable record-keeping processes and use virtual data rooms to upload, manage, and organize documents.

You’re a great candidate if you have:

  • 2-4 years of professional work experience in consumer products in a detail- and data-oriented role involving compliance and supply chains.
  • Robust analytical, technical and database management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and robust research skills.
  • Not just attention to detail, but A PASSION for keeping track of the small details with the ability to execute high-quality deliverables simultaneously with excellent time management skills and sense of prioritization.
  • Ability to conceptualize and explain the flow of materials/goods, the use of energy, and the generation of emissions through a supply chain. · Technical knowledge of emissions inventory development and management, emissions reduction strategies, knowledge in energy transition and renewables, supply chain or scope 3 decarbonization strategies.
  • A constructive attitude toward tasks and challenges, ability to receive and provide constructive feedback, and an openness toward growth and change.
