We're seeking a strategic Social Community Manager to build and lead our presence on Reddit, one of the internet's most influential platforms for brand perception, search visibility, and AI-generated recommendations. This role will shape how Brilliant Earth shows up in organic conversations, manages our brand reputation, and drives positive sentiment that cascades across search engines, LLMs, and customer decision-making.
This isn't about pushing promotional content—it's about authentic community engagement, strategic thought leadership, and reputation management that creates lasting value for our brand.
What You'll Do
Strategy & Planning
- Define, develop, lead, and execute a comprehensive Reddit strategy aligned with Brilliant Earth's brand positioning and business objectives
- Identify key subreddits and communities where our target audiences engage (engagement rings, bridal, jewelry, etc.)
- Create content calendars and engagement frameworks that balance brand building, digital objectives, with community value
- Monitor, analyze, and share Reddit trends, competitive activity, and emerging conversations relevant to the jewelry, engagement rings, and other relevant categories
Community Management & Engagement
- Actively participate in relevant subreddit communities as an advocate for the brand and trusted voice within the community
- Guide and moderate discussions in both branded and unbranded subreddits
- Respond to mentions, questions, and concerns about Brilliant Earth with authenticity and transparency
- Build relationships with subreddit moderators and influential community members and leverage those relationships in supporting the channel strategy
- Identify opportunities to drive positive sentiment and achieve objectives. For example - AMAs, expert contributions, and educational content
Brand Reputation & Sentiment
- Drive initiatives that improve brand perception and contribute to positive SERP results and LLM training data
- Monitor and manage brand mentions and track sentiment across subreddits and users
- Manage crisis situations and both positive and negative feedback
- Create playbooks for handling common scenarios (competitor comparisons, pricing questions, ethical sourcing inquiries)
Measurement & Optimization
- Track key metrics including sentiment analysis, engagement rates, mention volume, and referral traffic
- Analyze the impact of Reddit activity on search visibility, brand awareness, and consideration
- Provide regular reporting on community health, brand sentiment trends, and program ROI
- Continuously optimize strategy based on performance data and community feedback
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Brand, Digital, Merch, Customer Service, and Retail teams to ensure brand consistency
- Collaborate with Brand, Content, Customer Service, and SEO teams to inform content strategy based on Reddit insights
- Work with Customer Service to address product or service issues that surface on Reddit
- Share competitive intelligence and customer insights with relevant stakeholders
What You Bring
Required
- 3-5 years of community management experience, with at least 2 years focused specifically on Reddit in a role that is defining and driving Reddit strategy
- Deep understanding of Reddit culture, etiquette, and community dynamics across various subreddits
- Proven track record of building authentic brand presence on Reddit without appearing overly promotional
- Experience managing brand reputation and handling sensitive or negative conversations within social platforms Reddit or Discord
- Strong writing skills with ability to adapt tone for different communities and situations
- Data-driven mindset with experience tracking sentiment, engagement, and business impact
- Understanding of how social signals impact SEO, search visibility, and brand perception
- Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions in real-time
- Passion for ethical consumption, sustainability, or luxury retail (jewelry experience a plus)
Preferred
- Experience in luxury, jewelry, wedding, or e-commerce industries
- Familiarity with social listening tools (Brandwatch, Sprinklr, etc.)
- Understanding of how Reddit content influences LLMs and AI-generated responses
- Experience managing or contributing to AMA sessions
- Background in crisis communications or reputation management
- Knowledge of Reddit advertising and promoted content (to inform organic strategy)
